As Moderator of the recently formed Forum Group SIX at YPO Melbourne Yarra Chapter I would just like to express my profound gratitude to you for the amazing job done by you and your team in relation to planning, managing and facilitating our forum group retreat in Byron Bay last week.
I felt at ease from the moment we began talking a few months ago and you made the responsibility of arranging the first and formative retreat for our forum group an easy and pleasurable task for me.
You took the time to understand our group needs and dynamics so that a retreat timetable could be tailored to suit us. Your thorough planning enabled the retreat to flow seamlessly and effortlessly for me as the group Moderator, so I could fully participate in and enjoy the retreat to the same extent as the other group members. You were also flexible during the retreat to respond to emerging contingencies so that the retreat flowed naturally and effortlessly for all of us.
The retreat venue and accommodation, guided physical adventures including nature walks, meditation and stretching, on and off-site dining, entertainment and transport modes you organised for us were all absolutely top class and impressive even to the understandably discerning audience of a YPO forum group.
The core elements of the retreat that you facilitated with the group, however, is where you really shined. Your extensive career experience, professionalism, academic knowledge and in depth understanding of YPO protocols, combined with a natural and easy-going style quickly established your credibility and trust with the group, enabling people to open up and truly go deep with themselves and others in an honest, authentic and genuinely bonding manner.
The powerful processes that you utilised gave all of us a far greater understanding of ourselves and each other, our forum group has become a much stronger and closer unit as a result. We feel like we have now discovered our group identity, values and purpose as a result.
The retreat was a peak experience for me and I have come away with a renewed passion for my business, my family and my life.
Thank you Steph for the wonderful retreat that you and the Work Well team delivered for us, it was a truly transformative and memorable experience that will be treasured always.Ron Selkirk
Steph has a real knack for seamlessly stepping into the shoes of people of all personality types and guiding groups to align with a strategic road map.
These skills shined brightly recently when we did our chapter strategy session. Not only did she facilitate our exco strategy but also oversaw deliberation and alignment with the Melbourne YPO Gold chapter.Radek Sali
Steph was simply awesome. She provided very refreshing forum facilitation on our retreat, spending time on theory as well, which helped not only in the forum, but had very practical business application.James Cotton
We spent a full day with Stephanie Bown from workwellgroup digging down into our needs and values and found the whole process to be educational, insightful and a bit confronting.
Stephanie facilitated the day in both and a strategic and empathetic way to allow us to gain ‘psychological air’ to get to a granular level and then implement an action plan to move forward.
A great process and a credit to her skills and knowledge!Ken Fowler
Our EO Brisbane Forum Group (5%ers) partnered with workwellgroup to design a Forum Retreat in Byron Bay we all felt worked fantastically. The retreat included a mix of facilitated workshops, fun group activities and fantastic meals at some of the best restaurants in the area. Stephanie Bown from workwellgroup led us through a series of facilitated workshops on leadership, mindfulness and innovation, and also helped us bring in a mix of speakers to provide us with pragmatic tools to help us sustain health and wellbeing over the long-term.
Each one of us took something meaningful from the retreat that we have since put into an action plan and implemented in our lives. The impact has been positive and we now hold each other accountable in monthly forum. We would warmly recommend workwellgroup to other EO forum groups planning their next retreat.
Prior to founding workwellgroup and her work with Swisse Wellness, Steph spent almost a decade at Nous Group, where she worked with leaders from a range of industries including financial services, telecommunications, energy and utilities, and government sectors, to enhance their leadership styles and communication effectiveness.
Stephanie is an engaging consultant and coach who weaves together a deep understanding of human behaviour with her authentic care for people to open up individuals and organizations to great possibilities to achieve what is important to them.
Stephanie is herself living a life of continual learning and inspires us to do the same.Ian Lees
Byron is quickly becoming Australia’s favorite conference and business events destination; with great facilities, a wide variety of activities to engage mind, body and soul, food that inspires, and of course the stunning natural beauty. Find out more at the Byron Business Events Bureau to create a balanced Retreat agenda that will meet the needs and interests of your Forum group.
Historically, the area has long been revered as a place of healing and fertility. The local Arakwal Aboriginal people’s name for Byron Bay is Cavvanbah, which translates to “meeting place”. For thousands of years tribes from across the Bundjalung Nation would meet at sacred sites in times of sickness, to learn from elders and rejuvenate in the healing properties of the area.
Byron might have a reputation for its laidback lifestyle but it has quietly become one of Australia’s most exciting business hubs, where ASIX-listed entrepreneurs, technology innovators and successful start-ups both value and achieve that sought-after work/life balance.
